US International 420 Class Association

Press Release

August 26, 2014

Houston, Texas – The US International I420 Class announced today the formation of a Gulf Coast Regional Fleet with the addition of By Baldridge to the US I420 Executive Committee and Yandell Rogers as a regional advisor.

In February of 2014 The Gulf Coast Youth Sailing Association (GCYSA) coordinated the acquisition of six new I420s under individual ownerships. Two additional boats have since joined the program. GCYSA currently provides advanced double handed training in the I420 under the coaching leadership of Elizabeth Kratzig and Danielle Smythe.

“We believe the I420 is a great boat to train advanced sailors to be competitive in any performance boat. Once a team has developed their skills in the I420 they can easily compete in not only the I420 but also the Club 420 or the 29er. It is a great boat to take our advanced sailors to the next level.” Elizabeth Kratzig – Advanced I420 Coach

GCYSA is a sailing foundation that operates on Galveston Bay and provides advanced sailors with educational and coaching resources to develop the skills necessary to compete at the highest levels.
