WC Notes:

- The US I420 Class Association will attempt to secure sufficient charters for Team USA to the 2013 WC, however be advised that there will likely be a limited number of charter I-420’s available at the event due to the regatta location and the limited number of boats in the region.  Sailors may choose to ship their own boats to the WC or arrange for private charters.  The final number of teams chosen to compete in the WC will be solely based upon the number of teams that qualify and the number of charters available from the event sponsor or local charter company.  Team members that wish to have their own boat shipped to Austria will not be affected by the availability of charter I-420’s.

- All qualifying events shown above are I-420 events, and a team must sail in at least two (2) events.

-Selections will be chosen based on a helmsman’s best two Qualifying Regattas (high points earned).

-Applications shall be submitted by the helmsman and must include their crew information. A helm may apply with any crew so long as the selected crew is age eligible and has competed in at least two Qualifying Regattas in any year as either a helm or crew, or the crew was previously a member of a team that has sailed the I-420 at international, national or significant regional events within the past 24 months.

-US I-420 Class Membership is required to enter and compete in any of the qualifying regattas. A sailor’s results in regattas sailed while not a member of the US I-420 Class Association will not be eligible for consideration as one of his/her Qualifying Regatta’s.

-All helmsman and crews must be registered members of US Sailing and ISAF to compete in the WC.

- All applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for entry to the International 420 Class Association World Championship as published by the Class and the Organizing Authority.

-Wild Card selections may be used to add team members to the roster at the discretion of the US I420 Executive Board in the event that there are not enough qualifying teams to complete the roster.  A “Wild Card team is one that does not qualify on points due to not having sailed in the required number of events as  outlined on the Selection Criteria – team experience is a major factor in choosing “Wild Card” teams.  Teams without experience at any of the qualifying regattas will not be considered for selection as a “Wild Card” team, unless it is deemed by the US I-420 Class Executive Board that the team has prior I-420 experience from regattas over the past two years of sailing that would indicate that the Team is prepared to sail.
